The student must be a graduate from a Smith County public or private school system.
Be an undergraduate student; classified as a sophomore or above.
The student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, based on a 4.0 scale.
The student must be enrolled for a minimum of nine (9) semester hours.
The student must not have outstanding warrants or prior convictions.
The scholarship amount will be no less than $2,000 per academic year (with $1,000 to be awarded in the fall and $1,000 to be awarded in the spring)
Students receiving awards may receive scholarships for up to three (3) years, provided the student recipient continues to meet the criteria. Student must reapply each year and based on fund availability.
Student recipient shall send a thank you note to the donor contact for the endowment.
Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarships may cause scholarship to be revoked.
This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
