Adkins Family History Scholarship

  • Open to all classifications of students who are pursuing a degree from the History department.
  • The award for graduate students will be $1,000; the award for undergraduate students will be $500.
  • The candidate must submit a 1-2 page essay discussing their particular interest in history and how they plan to use the degree.
  • The donor (or his designated agent) will be provided with a copy of the selected scholarship recipient’s paper for review provided the student agrees to release said document to the donor.
  • The Scholarship will be applied to tuition and other associated expenses and will be applied to the students’ account.
  • Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
  • Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
  • This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
