Omer F. Kirkpatrick, M.D. Endowment
- The recipient must demonstrate academic ability by maintaining at a 3.0 GPA.
- The recipient must be a Texas high school graduate.
- The recipient must be an undergrad with a declared major in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences; preference given to majors in the departments of Literature & Languages or History
- The recipient must submit a 500-word essay outlining his or her career plans. The
essay must not exceed 750 words, and the family will receive a copy of the recipient’s
essay. The essay will address applicants’ goals and participation in community
service and campus life. - The recipient is encouraged to attend the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and
Arts scholarship banquet each year they receive the scholarship. - The Omer F. Kirkpatrick, M.D. scholarship endowment is designated to support one or two students each academic year with even disbursements between the Fall and Spring
semester. - Preference shall be given to a student from Hopkins County, Texas.
Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
