Graduate students seeking degrees in English whose interests resonate with those of Dr. Tarpley’s regarding their love for the English language, its creative uses, and writing.
Preferably be from the Northeast Region of Texas, residing in Hunt, Hopkins, Delta, Fannin, Rains, Van Zandt, or Kaufman counties and if no such candidates exist at that time, the award may be made to any graduate student regardless of geographic area.
The student shall be pursuing a graduate degree in English.
Demonstrate academic ability as determined by the scholarship committee.
Be committed to the love for the English language, writing, and its creative uses as determined by the scholarship committee.
Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
