Lanelle E Southerland & Joe E Phillips Endowed Scholarship

1) Students shall be a high school graduate of Fannin County.
2) Students shall be an incoming transfer with a transfer GPA of 2.8 who will be attending A&M-Commerce as a full-time student.
3) The recipients should be classified as a Junior for their initial award of this scholarship. Due to the timing of the scholarship application cycle, sophomores are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
4) Students shall provide evidence of leadership and community service on their scholarship application
5) The scholarship can be renewed for their senior year, and can be renewed a 2nd time if the student is enrolled in a 5-year program. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for renewal. Students must follow scholarship renewal requirements provided by Financial Aid to be considered; renewal based on funds ability.

  • Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
  • Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
  • This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
