Sayako Chinen East Asia Scholarship

  • Students enrolled in and matriculating at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
  • Students can be either undergraduate or graduate students, but must have successfully completed at least one semester during the regular academic year (fall or spring semester).
  • Scholarship is open to study in any country of East Asia (Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan or Mongolia), but preference will be extended to students desiring to study in Japan.
  • Student must have applied and been accepted into a program of study recognized by Texas A&M University-Commerce in one of the above countries.
  • Eligible programs include programs led by Texas A&M University-Commerce faculty; University-recognized third party program providers; or institutions with which Texas A&M University-Commerce has a formal agreement.
  • Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
  • Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
  • This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
