Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Endowment in Agriculture

  • The primary purpose of this endowment is to provide financial aid to existing college/university students who have a demonstrated need and meet the criteria or requirements expressed herein.
  • All scholarship recipients must be permanent citizens of the United States of America, as well as a resident of the state of Texas.
  • The students selected to receive the scholarships are to be undergraduate students selected by the College/School/Department of Ag Scholarship Selection Committee.
  • All scholarship recipients must have and maintain an authorized major in an Ag field of study in the College/School/Department of Agriculture at the institution throughout the duration of the scholarship. * All scholarship recipients must be enrolled as a full time student maintaining a minimum course load of 12 semester hours during a fall or spring semester throughout the duration of the scholarship.
  • All scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum grade point average each semester and overall of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent throughout the duration of the scholarship.
  • Students who receive four year Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo scholarships are not eligible to receive a scholarship in which funds are generated from Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo endowment funds. Also, students who receive a Go-Texan scholarship are not eligible to receive an endowment scholarship during the year in which funds are received for the Go-Texan scholarship.
  • Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
  • Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
  • This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
