Dr. Deborah L. Floyd Leadership Endowment

  • Scholarships to Gamma Phi Beta sorority members who are enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
  • Preference will be given to a Gamma Phi Beta member (Gamma Zeta Chapter) demonstrating leadership potential and financial need, as determined by the University.
  • If this Gamma Phi Beta chapter ceases to exist, or is not in good standing with the university, then the scholarship may be awarded to another individual who meets this criterion and is a member of another campus sorority.
  • If all sororities cease to exist at the University, then the scholarships may be awarded to a non-sorority individual who demonstrates leadership potential and financial need.
  • Student’s overall GPA must be at least 2.75 and the student must be in good standing with the university to qualify for this scholarship. Recipients of this scholarship should “model that way” and have strong potential to “make a difference” as a leader.
  • Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
  • Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
  • This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
