James Clyde & Patsie Swain Caperton Legacy Scholarship Endowment

  • Recipient must be a U.S. Citizen with highest preference to students from the Van, Commerce or Brazosport, Texas school systems.
  • Recipient must be majoring in Science with an education minor (LeoTeach) OR majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education).
  • This scholarship is open to undergraduate applicants must be entering their Junior OR Senior year of studies when the scholarship is paid.
  • Recipient must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to the qualified student with the highest GPA-with those students hailing fromthe above listed school systems being given the highest priority.
  • A single scholarship is to be awarded annually.
  • Recipient’s name can be published as a scholarship recipient.
  • Failure to meet the requirements of this scholarship may cause scholarships to be revoked.
  • This scholarship may entitle an out of state resident to the Non-Resident Tuition Exemption as outlined by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Policy on Non-Resident Tuition Exemption for Competitive Scholarship Recipients.
