Janis & Steve Sullivan

Steve Sullivan, class of 1969, is a prominent former newspaper publishing executive who retired from his position as vice president of newspaper operations at The E.W. Scripps Company after a 34-year career in the industry.

Sullivan was hired from A&M-Commerce to sell advertising for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and worked most of his career in his home state of Texas. Along his steady rise through the ranks of newspaper management, he has held several positions, including account executive, marketing director, general manager and president.

While establishing his career, Sullivan has also provided service to the community and the industry. He has served as board chairman for organizations such as the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, the Texas State Aquarium, the Texas Daily Newspaper Association and the College of Communication Advisory Council at the University of Texas at Austin.

Sullivan and his wife, Janis, have two daughters—Colleen and Anne—and they currently reside in Dallas.
