Dan & Linda Farell Endowment
H. Dan Farell is the former Chief Financial Officer and operational head of TXU Corporation business units in both the United States and Australia and continues as a trusted advisor to individuals and to community, educational and civic organizations. During his thirty-five years of finding practical solutions to corporate and community service challenges, he has provided solid perspective, respectful counsel, and sound leadership to one of the most essential organizations and industries in the nation. Through Farell Financial Advisory Services, he is now bringing these same skills to his true passion, preparing individuals and families to exercise financial accountability and stewardship. Whether modest or abundant, Farell believes that we must be accountable for the wise use of our financial resources, just as with all our time, talents, and gifts. Dan received his BBA in accounting and finance from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1972. He is a CPA, a certified financial planner, a personal financial specialist, a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and the Certification Program in Financial Planning at Southern Methodist University. Dedicated to professional excellence, he maintains active memberships in the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs and the Financial Planning Association. He is a former member of Financial Executives International. Dan is a sought-after advisor and community resource, whose planning, communication, leadership, and people management strengths have served him well throughout his business career and now in his current roles. He is past chairman and continues as a member of the board and executive committee of the North Texas Commission. A member of the Texas A&M University–Commerce Foundation Board, Dan has received the Alumni Ambassador Award, the highest honor that an academic department may bestow upon its alumni. He is a past member of the board of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, and is an active member of his church, First Baptist in Dallas, where he serves as a deacon and Stephen Minister. Throughout his career, he has formally and informally mentored, advised and counseled many colleagues, protégés, and students to define and achieve their professional goals. Now he’s happy to devote his full attention in assisting others to succeed through effective personal life and financial planning. Dan and his wife, Linda, have five children and four grandchildren.
